Our Programs

Clinical Pastoral Education

Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is intended to assist clergy, candidates for ministry, and pastoral care workers to develop a pastoral identity as well appropriate skills in the delivery of pastoral care

We offer CPE units in a number of modalities including extended (part-time), full-time, and full-year residencies.

CPE courses are "clinical" insofar as the participants engage in pastoral ministry under supervision.

This experiential process follows the guidelines of the handbook of the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education.

Pastoral Counselling Education

Pastoral Counselling Education (PCE) is designed to strengthen counselling skills for parish ministry.

PCE units are offered through a year-long work-place program.

These clinically based courses include case conferences, practice counselling, theory seminars, inter-personal relations group, worship, and theological reflection.

Students provide pastoral counselling either in their own ministry setting or in a counselling placement setting found with assistance by the instructors.
